LO: to analyse a media text using media language.

In the no time to die poster they have used a long medium shot to show easily us what he is using and wearing because he is normally wearing a suit in theses posters but not for this one.

in this poster the clothing in this movie is meant to show us that he might be a hitman and the watch is related to the title No Time To Die while the props show us he is ready to fight something with a gun ready in his hand and a gun holster to quickly grab it. His facial expression shows us he is serious about what he is doing and has no  emotion for it. The background shows us it might be in a enclosed place and it might be cold an damp in the are he is in.

1.Car crash, to show good stunts

2. People talking

3. Gun shots, to show danger

4. Glass breaking

5. Building breaking, to show excitment for action

This  tell us this movie could be a heavy action movie and they decide to keep these in the trailer to get people excited about James Bond being in action since this movie was delayed for 1 year.

the transition fade to black has been used a lot and straight cuts to different scenes and near the end there is longer scenes then transitions to faster cuts for different action to match the pace of the music and action.

in this poster it tells me that there are good and evil characters because of the way there faces are interlocking might mean they are connected in some way or are against each other with black going around the poster showing this movie might be dark or set in the night or dark area. while the font  saying "let there be carnage" showing us this movie could be dark or gory in some way. with a close up shot i think this movie is gonna be mostly about these two characters.

mid shots to show fights and action

long shots to show the clothes and props

extreme close up to show different facial expressions

close ups to show the characters and interactions between them

an establishing shot to show the enviroment

In the dune trailer, camera work is used effectively to show what the location of the scene looks like and what actors are gonna be in it for example in this scene where some type of monster is appearing out of the sand the director uses camera work this gives us the location of the area and what is happening there and makes the audience think this is gonna be a sci-fi action movie

In the dune trailer, the editing is showing us what this movie is gonna be about , for example, in the scene where the music speeds up the editing is speeding up showings a lot of different locations and action, the directors use editing to show us what the movie is gonna be about and what type of genre it is gonna be and makes the audience think this is a action movie.

in the new scream trailer they use camera work to
show peoples facial expressions when they are getting stalked by the killer and when there house is getting hacked by soemthing.

they also use mise-en-scene is used to show the different types of weapons gonna be used to kill his or hers victims and the different clothes used like the scream costume.

the sound track is set

  1. This is a great first analysis Jago! Well done.
WWW: you've used some accurate terminology
EBI: you try to use the term 'connotes' or 'connotations' as well.
